'Topo' Series

Topography is the arrangement of the natural and artificial physical features of an area. Clarissa’s “Topo” series is a study of two materials; natural wood and synthetic polymer. While each material is distinct in properties, aesthetics and cultural perceptions, through exploration and arrangement of the materials, she has found that the way in which they can be used and manipulated has more similarities than differences. This relationship between materials offers an investigation into questions of hierarchies, value and predispositions for certain materials through creating harmonious topographies.
